During last year’s summer season, I had gone to visit Ladakh with a group of tourists. We all enjoyed a lot for almost 6 days.

The atmosphere was so pleasant and we all were hanging around in the nature’s beauty. During our tour we spent a night at a remote village in Ladakh and we were to leave from there by 6 a.m. in the morning.

It was due to my mistake or some negligence, I left stranded in the village while the bus with a group to yellow tourist left the place. I was so horrified realizing it, as it was a remote village with no mobile connectivity.

For few minutes, I didn’t understand what to do. Then, I saw a group of locals coming towards me. I had a feeling of fear, still tried to be calm. The group realized that, I have been left from the group. They tried to talk with me in Hindi, from which I understood that there is a telephone at local police chowki.

They accompanied me to the place and talked with the authorities. They called the police chowkis of nearby villages in order to stop the bus.

After some time, they got the call from one of the village where the bus had reached and police had stopped them, so that I can board it. Then, they managed a vehicle for me and made arrangements to drop me to the place. I thanked the authorities and the locals for coming to my rescue. After an hour’s journey, I spotted the bus waiting for me.

I heaved a sigh of relief. The manager and driver apologized to me and without wasting the time, I boarded the bus. I had fallen in such a big trouble but the helping nature of the locals and presence of mind of the policemen saved me from it.
