Lime juice is sour hence it is an acid. Also it contains citric acid...

It contains calcium hydroxide also...
Does that mean that lime water is base and acid both?
But if it contains acid also, then why it is prescribed by doctors in acidity?
Please answer my question fast.....

Lime juice is the juice obtained from lime, a citrus fruit. This contains citric acid, and is therefore sour in taste. On the other hand, lime water is a saturated solution of a base called calcium hydroxide (chemical formula Ca(OH)2) in water. Hence, lime water is not acidic but basic in nature.
