lime water is not a good idea for the same reason electronics break when they get wet, because there is no way to guide the electrical currents that get sent through it. In an electronic that got wet, the electrical currents are flowing through the water and going to the wrong places, probably electrocuting and burning whatever the current goes too, breaking it.
