yes, it turns milky.

vaibhaharimkar39053: Why
VishnuDhasan: Carbon dioxide (CO2) turns lime water milky due to the formation of insoluble calcium carbonate, CaCO3. Sulphur dioxide (SO2) also does the same, but slowly, as it reacts with calcium hydroxide to form insoluble calcium sulphite
VishnuDhasan: give thank you
VishnuDhasan: if you are satisfied
vaibhaharimkar39053: Ok
VishnuDhasan: tks

Lime water is actually Ca(OH)2 . When it reacts with CO2 insoluble CaCO3 is formed which turns solution milky. ... When carbon dioxide is passed through lime water it turns milky due to the formation of water insoluble precipitate CaCO3. Still if excess ofCO2 is passed it forms water soluble Calcium bicarbonate .
