From Dobereiner we came to know thatelements arranged according to their increasing atomic masses in a group of three elements which are also known as the traids having similar chemical properties are obtained.

Where the arithmetic mean of the 2 elements will be the atomic mass of the middle element of the traid.

This also had limitations as given by Dobereiner.

1.This method failed to arrange all the elements in traid s form and also failed in classification of elements.

2. Dobereiner could identify only 3 traids of the elements which were known then.
