It cannot derive relation or formula if a physical quantity depends upon more than three factors having dimensions. It cannot derive a formula containing trigonometric function, exponential function, and logarithmic function. It cannot derive a relation having more than one part in an equation.

The limitations are as follows-

1. If the formula contains any dimensional constants, such analysis does not give any necessary information about them.

2. Any function involving trigonometry/ exponential/ log with no dimension cannot have a formula.

3. If a quantity relies on more than three factors, its formula cannot be derived either.

4. The value of the proportionality constant cannot be derived.
