Answer:

Nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) utilizes radio-recurrence (RF) magnetic fields to incite and identify changes between sublevels of a uclear ground state, a depiction that likewise applies to nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).

Disadvantages:

1. Only works for quadrupolar nuclei (spin ≥ 1) in solids – no  solutions, or fluids

2. Low signal to noise ratio (SNR) compared to NMR (in NMR a  high operating frequency can be chosen)

3. No ability to control NQR frequency
