In simple words, the kinetic energy of enormous amount of water moving between high tide and low tide is called the tidal energy.
Now, Limitations of Tidal Energy are :
1. There are very few sites where dams can be constructed to utilise tidal energy.
2. It is not a continuous and reliable source of energy.
3. The efficiency of tidal power plant is small.
4. Cost of installation of tidal energy power plants is high.
5. The power plants built at the seashore needs high maintenance cost because of changes of corrosion are extremely high there.
