Limiting value of equivalent conductance of

  • BaSO4 ⇒ X
  • BaCl2 ⇒ Y
  • H2SO4 ⇒ Z

from Kohlrausch's law,

equivalent conductance of an ionic compoundat infinite dilution is the sum of equivalent conductance of cations and anions present in that ionic compound.

so, \Lambda^{\infty}BaSO_4=\Lambda^{\infty}Ba^+\Lambda^{\infty}SO_4^{--}

\Lambda^{\infty}BaCl_2=\Lambda^{\infty}Ba^+2\Lambda^{\infty}Cl^-

\Lambda^{\infty}H_2SO_4=2\Lambda^{\infty}H^++\Lambda^{\infty}SO_4^{--}

so, 2\Lambda^{\infty}HCl=\Lambda^{\infty}BaCl_2+\Lambda^{\infty}H_2SO_4-\Lambda^{\infty}BaSO_4

2\Lambda^{\infty}HCl=Y+Z-X

or, \Lambda^{\infty}HCl=\frac{(Y+Z-X)}{2}
