Given :  Lina is going to plant 63 tomato plants and 81 cabbage plants.

Lina would like to plant the plants in rows where each row has the same number of tomato plants and cabbage plants.

To Find :   What is the greatest number of rows Lina can plant

Solution:

To get the  greatest number of rows Lina can plant  she should plant 1  tomato / 1 cabbage in each row

Hence greatest number of rows = 63 + 81  = 144

To find Least number of rows :    or greatest plant in a row.

need to find  first HCF of 63 and 81

63 = 7 * 9   , 81 = 9 * 9

Hence   9 plants in a row

9 plants in a row is greatest

Number of rows  =  63/9  + 81/9  = 7 + 9  = 16

Least number of rows :   = 16

Each time Mariam goes to the store she plans to spend Rs. 30, and each time Sana goes to the store she plans to spend Rs. 50

LCM of 30 and 50   =  150

least possible number of times that Mariam has been to the store = 150/30  = 5
