QUESTION :-

Two lines l and m are parallel to each other and t is a transversal. If the ratio of two angles a and b is 2 : 3 . Then find the measure of angles a and b

GIVEN :-

  • Ratio of two angles A and B = 2:3

TO FIND :-

  • Measures of angles A and B

SOLUTION :-

Let ,

  • a = 2x
  • b = 3x

From the given digure , a and b are co-interior angles. Their sum is 180°

 \implies \bf \: \angle a + \angle b  =  {180}^{ \circ} \\  \\  \implies \bf \: 2x + 3x =  {180}^{ \circ}  \\  \\  \implies  \bf \: 5x =  {180}^{ \circ}  \\  \\  \implies \bf \: x =  \frac{180}{5}  \\  \\  \implies {\underline {\boxed {\pink {\bf {\: x =  {36}^{ \circ} }}}}}

Then ,

 \bf \angle  a = 2x = 2(36) = 72 {}^{ \circ}  \\  \\ \bf \angle \: b = 3x = 3(36) =  {108}^{ \circ}

∴ The measures of ∠a and ∠b is 72° and 108°

ADDITIONAL INFO :-

★ Corresponding angles are equal

★ Alternate interior and Alternate exterior angles are equal

★ Vertically opposite angles are equal

★ Two angles are said to be supplementary only when their sum is 180°
