Given :-

  • Line m is a transversal intersecting two parallel lines .
  • ∠x and ∠y are interior angles .
  • ∠x is congruent to ∠y .

To Find :-

  • ∠x and ∠y = ?

Solution :-

  • we know that, sum of interior angles on the same sides of the transversal are 180° .
  • when two angles are congruent ,they have the same measure.

so,

→ ∠x + ∠y = 180°

and,

→ ∠x = ∠y .

therefore,

→ ∠x + ∠x = 180°

→ 2 ∠x = 180°

→ ∠x = 90° .

hence, ∠x and ∠y are 90° each .
