so by the given information,

Mid point of ac=mid point of bd

[(-2+8)/2,(6+12)/2]=[(4+x)/2,(8+24)/2]

[6/2,18/2]=[4+x/2,32/2]

(4,9)=(4+x/2,16)

4+x/2=4

4+x=8

x=4
