Linear equation :-
(i)7y/7 = 1/7
(ii)1/3y + 4=12

24y=1
y=1/24

Hi friend,

(i) 7y/7=1/7
7*7y=7*1 (Cross multiply)
49y=7
y=7/49
y=1/7 (Canceling)

(ii) 1/3y+4=12
1+12y/3y=12/1. (Taking LCM)
1(1+12y)=12*3y
1+12y=36y
1=36y-12y
1=24y
y=1/24
