Let the man be x and boys be y
6x+5y = 260......Eqn 1
4x+7y = 232......Eqn 2
x+y=?
Since the equations are simultaneous, we can solve them by elimination method, by multiplying the coefficients of the equations interchangeably,
4[6x+5y=260]....1
6[4x+7y=232].....2

then we get our two equations as
24x+20y=1040..........1
24x+42y=1392...........2

Then subtract Equation 1 from Equation 2 hence getting
0+18y=352, y=19.555... approximately y=20

From either equations, 6x+5y=260
6x+5*20 = 260
6x+100 = 260
6x+100-100 = 260-100
6x=160
x=26.666 approximately 27 Answer
Therefore, x+y = ?
27+20=47

Hence the wages per day of a man and boy is 47
