Solution (4) :

Let Anwar's present age be x years

Four years ago, his age was (x-4) years

After 12 years, his age will become (x+12) years

According to the question,

(x+12) = 3(x-4)

Or, x+12 = 3x-12

Or, 2x = 24

Or, x = 12

Hence, we conclude that the present age of Anwar is 12 years.
