In context to questions asked,

We have to determine the value of y

As per questions,

We have,

 \frac{2y + 5}{3} = 3y - 3

So, for determining the value of y we will separate the like terms on one side.

Thus we will get,

 \frac{2y + 5}{3} = 3y - 3 \\ = > 2y + 5 = 3(3y - 3) \\ = > 2y + 5 = 9y - 9 \\ = > 9y - 2y = 5 + 9 \\ = > 7y = 14 \\ = > y = \frac{14}{7} = 2

Hence, value of y will be 2.
