To solve :

  • 1/2x-3=5+1/3x

Solution :

• Let's use Transposing method to find the value of variable x.

→ 1/2x - 3 = 5 + 1/3x

→ x/2 - x/3 = 5 + 3

→ x × 3 - x × 2/6 = 5 + 3

→ 3x - 2x/6 = 8

→ 1x/6 = 8

→ x = 8 × 6

→ x = 48

Required answer :

  • x = 48

Verification :

To check whether the obtained answer is correct or incorrect we will put the value of variable x in the equation "1/2x - 3 = 5 + 1/3x" If right hand side is equal to the left hand side the value of x is correct.

1/2x - 3 = 5 + 1/3x

→ 1/2(48) - 3 = 5 + 1/3(48)

→ 24 - 3 = 5 + 16

→ 21 = 21

  • Hence verified !

Given Equation -

  • \sf{\dfrac{1}{2x} - 3 = 5 + \dfrac{1}{3x}}

Solution -

First step to solve this question is to simplify both the sides. Simplifying L.H.S and R.H.S will make the equation easier to solve.

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{1}{2x} - 3 = 5 + \dfrac{1}{3x}}

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{1}{2x} - \dfrac{1}{3x} = 5 + 3}

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{3x - 2x}{6x} = 8}

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{x}{6x^2} = 8}

\tt\dashrightarrow{\dfrac{1}{6x} = 8}

\tt\dashrightarrow{1 = 48x}

\tt\dashrightarrow{x = \dfrac{1}{48}}

Hence,

  • Value of x is \sf{\dfrac{1}{48}}
