By substitution method
let ,
x+3y=16 .....(1)
2x-y=4 ......(2)
equation (1) = x=16-3y
put the value of 'x' in equation (2)
2(16-3y)- y=4
(32-6y)-y=4
32-6y-y =4
32-7y =4
32-4=7y
28=7y
y=4
put the value of 'y' in equation (2)
2x-y= 4
2x-4=4
2x= 4+4
2x=8
x= 4
Solution :- (x,y) (4,4).
