let the linear momentum be 'p'

20% of p = 20*p/100 = p/5

20% increase in p means p+p/5=6p/5

change in K.E. = K. E. final - K. E. initial

= 1/2p'v-1/2pv

=1/2v(6p/5-p)

=1/2v(p/5)

20% decrease in p means p-p/5=4p/5

change in K. E. = K. E. final - K. E. initial

=1/2v(4p/5-p)

=-1/2v(p/5)
