Hello friend

Good morning

Your answer is given below :

Given that

2x + by + 5 = 0 and ax + 3y - 2 = 0 are parallel

We know that in case of parallel lines

 =  >  \frac{a1}{a2} =  \frac{b1}{b2}   \:  \: is \: not \: equal \: to \:     \: \frac{c1}{c2}  \\  \\  =  >  \frac{2}{a}  =   \frac{ - b}{3}  \\  \\  =  >  6 = - ab \\  \\  =  > ab = 6

I hope it will help you a lot

Thanks

Have a good day

Heya !!!

2X - BY + 5 = 0 ---------(1)

And,

AX + 3Y = 2

AX + 3Y -2 = 0 --------(2)

These equations are of the form of A1X+B1Y + C1 = 0 and A2X + B2Y + C2 = 0

Where,

A1 = 2 , B1 = -B and C1 = 5

A2 = A , B2 = 3 and C2 = -2

It is given that the lines are parallel. It means

A1/A2 = B1/B2 # C1/C2 [ Where # stand for not equal ]

2/ A = -B/ 3 # 5/-2

-BA = 6

AB = -6
