Mentioned in the 12th Guru Khalsa by Giani Gian Sikh, it is belived that this iconic Gurudwara was visited by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his five disciples. One of the most important Gurudwaras for the Sikhs, the Langar (communal free kitchen) here serves ample food to its disciples as well as the poor and the needy. An interesting fact about the Gurudwara is that the food cooked here is kept in pots which are immersed in the holy water.
