Step-by-step explanation:

Explain " Intersecting Lines and Non-intersecting Lines " ?

Interesting Lines:

The lines which are intersecting (meet) at a single point are known as intersecting lines.

Non-intersecting lines:

The lines which are not intersecting (meet) each other are known as non-intersecting lines.

Explain " Pairs of Angles " ?

Pairs of Angles:

  1. If two lines are intersecting each other at a single point, then 2-pair of equal angles are formed, known as Vertical opposite angles.
  2. If two parallel lines are intersecting by a line ( known as transversal) four pairs of angles are formed.
  • Corresponding angles: 4 pairs
  • Alternate interior angles: 2 pairs
  • Consecutive interior angles: 2 pairs
  • Vertically opposite angles: 4 pairs

Explain " Parallel Lines and a Transversal " ?

Parallel Lines and a Transversal:

If two parallel lines are intersecting by a line ( known as transversal) then, four pairs of angles are formed.

Corresponding angles: 4 pairs

  • Equal corresponding pairs of angles.
  • \angle 1=\angle 5
  • \angle 2=\angle 6
  • \angle 3=\angle 7
  • \angle 4=\angle 8

Alternate interior angles: 2 pairs

  • Equal Alternate interior pairs of angles.
  • \angle 3=\angle 6
  • \angle 4=\angle 5

Consecutive interior angles: 2 pairs

  • Sum of two consecutive interior angles is 180°.
  • \angle 3+\angle 5=180°
  • \angle 4+\angle 6=180°

Vertically opposite angles: 4 pairs

  • Equal vertically opposite pairs of angles.
  • \angle 1=\angle 4
  • \angle 2=\angle 3
  • \angle 5=\angle 8
  • \angle 7 =\angle 6

Hope it helps you.
