Moon Wind by Ted Hughes is full of poet's fantasy imagery. ... The poetimagines a burning candle on moonwould shiver in spite of the total silence.; a giant tent would be blown away by the moon wind which looked like a huge swan flying over the sea.

Hope it's help you

I studied this specific poem as part of my English Literature syllabus this year. In many ways Hughes really is just describing a windy storm in the eyes of a man who lived on a hill.

However you can see in the way the poet exaggerated the effects of the wind, describing the hills as shaking like ‘tents’ and the storm having a ‘mad eye,’ that he wants the reader to see the overwhelming strength of nature, and the fact that all our surroundings and the things humans have built are but feeble when put to the test against Mother Nature. It is a presentation of the symbolic war between humans and nature, in which, in Hughes’ writing, as well as in the real world, Nature is usually the stronger force.

You’ll notice many of Hughes’ poems use similar methods to convey the power of nature and our own feebleness, while creating vivid imagery of the scenes he describes.

That is one of the reasons his work is so widely appreciated for its use of raw emotion and blunt truth, while still maintaining the flair and elegance of a true poetic genius.
