Q) Liquid generally have lower density as compared to solid but you must have observed that Ice floats in water find out why?

Answer :-

Liquids have lower inter molecular force of attraction, They move about freely. There is space between their particles,  that's why they have lower density.

However, we know that ice is solid form of water, it contains empty spaces in between, therefore ice is lighter than water and hence it floats on water.
