liquid generally have lower density as compared to solids. but you must have observed that ice floats on water.find out?

because ice have small intra molecular space in which air is filled that's why it's floats on water

it is because ice has open cage structure having empty space. It has more volume but less mass therefore it has lower density than water in spite of being solid.
