Given : Liquids A and B are mixed in the ratio 3:7 to form liquid C .

Entire quantity of liquid C is mixed with liquid A in the ratio 2:3 to form liquid D

To find :  the ratio of the quantity of liquid B to that of A in the liquid D

Solution:

Liquids A and B are mixed in the ratio 3:7 to form liquid C .

=> Liquid C =  3x Liquid A  and 7x liquid B

Entire quantity of liquid C is mixed with liquid A in the ratio 2:3

=>  => if liquid C is 1 then liquid A is 3/2

if liquid C is 10x  then liquid A mixed is (3/2) 10x = 15x

Liquid D has

Liquid A = 3x  + 15x = 18x

Liquid B = 7x

ratio of the quantity of liquid B to that of A  = 7x : 18x

= 7 : 18
