Answer:

Solids lack the property of diffusion because the particles in the solids are closely arranged leaving very little inter molecular space. The particles of the solids have less inter-molecular spaces between them which does not allow free movement of particles. The particles can only move about their mean position.

Answer:

liquids generally lack the property of diffusion

Explanation:

  • Generally liquids lack the property of diffusion because the particles of liquid travel slowly.
  • The rate of  diffusion is proportional to the mass of the liquid or gas being diffused.
  • But liquid has higher rate of diffusion than solids.
  • Diffusion is gas more fast than that of liquid because the particles in gas are more spread out and move faster than the particles in a liquid.
  • Liquid and gas are able to diffuse as the molecule are able to move randomly.

Hence liquids lack the property of diffusion
