Let Peter's salary be x

Paul's salary = 40% of x = 0.4x

Lisa's salary = 37.5% of 0.4x = 0.375( 0.4x) = 0.15x

Ratio of Peter's salary to Lisa's salary = x : 0.15x

Simplify (Multiply by 100):

Ratio of Peter's salary to Lisa's salary = 100 : 15

Simplify (Divide by 5):

Ratio of Peter's salary to Lisa's salary = 20 : 3

Answer: The ratio is 20 : 3

Hello!

Let Peter's salary be x

\bf{Paul's\: salary} = 40% of x = \dfrac{40}{100} \times \sf x = \bf{0.04x}
\bf{Lisa's \:salary} = 37.5% of 0.04x = \dfrac{37.5}{100} \times \sf 0.04x = \bf{0.15x}

Then,

\underline{\sf Ratio \:of\:Peter's\:salary\: to\: Lisa's \:salary} :

\sf x:0.15.x = \dfrac{\sf \cancel{x}}{\sf 0.15\cancel{x}} \\ \\ \implies \dfrac{1}{0.15} \times \dfrac{100}{100} \\ \\ \implies \dfrac{100}{15} \implies \boxed{\red{\bf{\dfrac{20}{3}}}}

Hence,
The required ratio is \bf{20:3}

Cheers!
