Two balanced reaction for SYNTHESIS OF SODIUM CARBONATE:

Reaction 1:

  • Heating of Sodium Bi-carbonate:

2NaHCO_{3}\rightarrow Na_{2}CO_{3}+H_{2}O+CO_{2}

Reaction 2:

  • Use of ammonium bi-carbonate and sodium chloride:

NaCl + NH_{4}HCO_{3}\rightarrow NaHCO_{3}+NH_{4}Cl

After that , sodium bi-carbonate can be heated as shown in 1st equation to produce sodium carbonate.

This is the industrial method for production of sodium carbonate.
