Poriferans show cellular grade of organisation whereas coelenterates show tissue grade of organisation. Poriferans show numerous pores called ostia which are absent in coelenterates. Mouth is absent in poriferans but present in coelenterates. Coelenteron is present in coelenterates but absent in poriferans.
