The disadvantages of using fertilizers are:

  1. They destroy the soil texture if used in excess.
  2. They change the chemical nature of soil(making it highly acidic or alkaline)
  3. Kill useful soil organisms such as earthworms.
  4. They destroy the porosity of soil.
  5. They may pollute soil and water bodies.

Disadvantages:~
* with excessive use..it makes the soil infertile...
* makes the soil too acidic/alkaline due to which plants don't grow properly..
* When these soil wash away into nearby waterbodies...the acids in the fertilizers causes depletion of metabolism in the waterbodies due to eutrophication....
*kills soil's helpful microorganisms...
*Also on excessive use it results in soil pollution
*Also changes the nature and texture of the soil..
