The disadvantages of using fertilizers are:
- They destroy the soil texture if used in excess.
- They change the chemical nature of soil(making it highly acidic or alkaline)
- Kill useful soil organisms such as earthworms.
- They destroy the porosity of soil.
- They may pollute soil and water bodies.

Disadvantages:~
* with excessive use..it makes the soil infertile...
* makes the soil too acidic/alkaline due to which plants don't grow properly..
* When these soil wash away into nearby waterbodies...the acids in the fertilizers causes depletion of metabolism in the waterbodies due to eutrophication....
*kills soil's helpful microorganisms...
*Also on excessive use it results in soil pollution
