1) Barrier method = This method act as barrier for the fussion of sperm and ovum.
2) Hormonal method= Oral contraceptive pills which contains hormones ( oestrogen and progesterone) which prevent release of ovum so that fertization cannot occur.
3) Chemical method =It includes spermicides such as gels and foams which are applied in vegina and kills the sperm. It can only be used with condoms or diaphragm.
4) Surgical method =It includes two methods.
a) Vasectomy= In this method a small portion of vas deference is cut or tied properly and hence preventing the sperm from coming out that transfer to vegina.
b) Tubectomy =In this method a small portion of oviduct or Fallopian tube is cut and tied properly thus blocking fallopian tube of female. As a result of which the sperm does not reach to the egg and fertization does not take place.

•In this method physicsl devices such as diaphragm and cervical caps are used. They prevent the entry of sperms in female during coupulation.
2. Chemical Method:-
•It is used as drug by female. It is two types i.e. Oral pills and Vaginal pills.
3. Surgical Method:-
•In this method a small portion of vas deferens in males and fallopian tube in female are surgically remove or tied. It is called vasectomy in female and tubectomy in male.
Two advantages of adopting these:-
● It will sensitize people of consequences of population explosion.
● Frequent pregnancy can be avoided by adopting these methods.
