The sample space has 6 possible outcomes-

S={1,2,3,4,5,6}.

Let all outcomes are equally likely(fair dice).

Hence Probability of any one outcome occurring= 1/6.

The event that we get that an even number on tossing the die can occur in 3 possible ways.

Let E denote this event.

E={2,4,6}

Now P(E)= 3×1/6=1/2
