1.Planning the project - A project plan can be created using a simple planning tool such as the Work Breakdown Structure. While using the WBS methodology, the project is broken down to major tasks which are placed into WBS. Each major task are further divided into smaller tasks or action steps.  

2.Supervising tasks and action steps – A champion (such as IT Manager or CIO) from the general management community is designated to supervise the implementation of an information securityproject plan. The tasks and action steps which are more in detail are designated to IT teams of interest.

3.Wrapping up – Project wrap up is usually handled as a procedural task and assigned to a mid-level IT manager. Collection of documentation, Finalizing status reports, delivering a final report, and presentation at a wrap up meetings are responsibilities of the manager responsible.
