Brief note on three methods of contraception

The contraception used by humans are classified are as follows:

1. Barrier method:

• It includes usage of those devices which acts as a barrier between the male and female gametes.

• Condoms are one such example.
• It is not reliable measure to prevent fertilization.

2. Surgical method:

• It is very effective and involves surgical operations on Vas deference of male and Fallopian tubes in the female.
• In male, the procedure is called as vasectomy and in the female it is called tubectomy.
• It is free from side effects.

3. Intrauterine devices:

• It kills the sperm and thus prevents fertilization. Copper-T is such a type of contraceptives.
• It causes certain side effects as copper is used.
