Safety measures for Railway are:

  • Brakes: The brakes of a train follow a fail-safe system. Such a system returns to the condition of safety if any failure occurs.
  • Driver's safety Device: This is one of the oldest safety device which is currently in use. It is also known as the dead man's switch.
  • Power brake controller: This is a device that provides a single control for the accelerator and brake of the train.
  • Condition-based monitoring mechanism :The condition based monitoring mechanism will have two systems. An on-board system will detect glitches in roller bearings, coach suspension etc. While the second system will detect wheel defects, hanging parts, broken springs, and more.

  • Never cross the yellow line on the platform unless and until the the train has stopped on the platform.
  • Never lean out of the train or keep your hand out of the train even if the train may or may not be moving.
  • Always use the washrooms while the train is moving and not while it is stopped on a platform.
  • Always use the overhead bridge for crossing the railway track.
