Safety measures for Railway are:
- Brakes: The brakes of a train follow a fail-safe system. Such a system returns to the condition of safety if any failure occurs.
- Driver's safety Device: This is one of the oldest safety device which is currently in use. It is also known as the dead man's switch.
- Power brake controller: This is a device that provides a single control for the accelerator and brake of the train.
- Condition-based monitoring mechanism :The condition based monitoring mechanism will have two systems. An on-board system will detect glitches in roller bearings, coach suspension etc. While the second system will detect wheel defects, hanging parts, broken springs, and more.
