non metals:-1) this are not strong , they can be cut by a knife.(they are soft)

Metals are found in solid state and they are ductile and malleable whereas non metals can be found in nature in all the three possible states and the chemical difference is that metals are electro positive and form basic oxides in nature whereas the non metals are electronegative and form acidic oxides in nature
