Developments made by India in last ten years in the fields of medicine and surgery, are as follows -

• The economic value of the whole Indian medicine industry (or, pharmaceutical industry) had increased a lot in the last decade. As per the last recorded data, the whole annual turnover of the Indian pharmaceutical industry was approximately 30 billion dollars, which is tremendous. Same economic growth is also observed in the surgical industry also.
• If we specifically observe the surgery industry, then we will surely notice the arrival of the modern technology in the field of surgery. A lot of surgeries which were done manually in the previous years , are now performed by autonomous devices. Although, the technological advancements in the surgical industry is still in it's initial stages but the technological revolution is surely started. It is possible, that the Indian medical industry will reach the same level of the Western world's medical industry, in the coming few decades.
• Another most significant development is becoming independent in the industrial process. The dependence on the imported medical equipments and other medical products, are now decreasing a lot and we are heading towards the homegrown industrial era. The currently launched "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiative will surely help in this case. This will indirectly reduce the final cost for availing different medical services.
