Gender identity in Nepal is a burning issue. The third gender more commonly referred to as the transgenders are the most affected class of people who face humiliation, neglect, mockery from the society. They are not given equal rights to education, employment, freedom like the other two genders. They are abused, molested, forced to sex and deprived of their social rights.

The "Yogyakarta Principle" has been launched by the government of Nepal to stop this discrimination to this bullied and deprived "third gender". Through this principle equal rights are granted to them in every sector.
