understanding of India's strategic practice, the attempt here would be to explain its
evolution during a particular historical period. The chapter looks at the significant
material and ideational influences that went into the making of Akbar's grand strategy,

in which material influences such as the distance factor and the vast military potential of

argument of the chapter that while Akbar innovated with his policies, to a great extent he
