• For short distance use cycle or go walking.

Use rooms heaters, coolers and other such things only when absolutely needed. Use solar cookers heaters and dryers whenever possible. Reduce cooking time by soaking pulses for sometime before cooking. Use a pressure cooker for cooking rice, pulses or meat.
