In a Compound :
1-two or more elements are combined chemically. For example-Sugar mixed in water.

2-the elements are present fixed ratio by mass.Foe example -in water(H20) the two elements Hydrogen and Oxygen are combined in the ratio 1:8 by mass .This ratio is always mixed whatever may be the source of water

3-the constituents cannot be separated by physical means. For example -You cannot separated Hydrogen and oxygen present in water by your hands(Can-You?)

4-the constituents lose their identities i.e., a Compound does not show characteristics of the constituting elements.(For example -whereas Hydrogen is combustible and oxygen supports combustion but water extinguished fire)

5-Compounds are always homogeneous i.e. they have the same composition throughout.

In a mixture:
1-two or more elements are simply mixed and not combined chemically. For example air is a mixture of different gases like nitrogen ,oxygen ,Carbon dioxide ,nobel gases etc. However they are not combined chemically.

2-the constituents are not present in fixed ratio .It can vary. For example -You can add as much amount of Complan in Milk as you want .It is not fixed.

3-The constituents can be easily separated by physical means. For example-Sugar mixed in salt can be separated by hands.

4-The constituents do not lose their identities by.You can figure out this from the above example.
5-Compound have different composition throughout.
That's all!
