To find : five rational numbers between \frac{-2}{3} and \frac{-7}{4}

Solution :

  • According to question we have to find five rational numbers between \frac{-2}{3} and \frac{-7}{4}  .
  • To find the numbers between given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM = 12
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get ,    \frac{-2}{3}  = \frac{-8}{12}\ \   ; \ \ \frac{-7}{4} = \frac{-21}{12}
  • Now , we can find five numbers between \frac{-8}{12} and \frac{-21}{12}
  • They are : \frac{-9}{12} , \frac{-10}{12} , \frac{-11 }{12} , \frac{-12}{12} , \frac{-13}{12} .

Hence , five numbers between \frac{-2}{3} and \frac{-7}{4}   are  \frac{-9}{12} , \frac{-10}{12} , \frac{-11 }{12} , \frac{-12}{12} , \frac{-13}{12} .
