AIDS is Acquired immune deficiency syndrome. AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV(Human immunodeficiency virus).When this virus enters the bloodstreams, a person may become infected with it &  said to be HIV positive.

Various modes of transmission:- 

Using needles already infected with HIV positive blood- In hospitals due to ignorance or lack of attention of doctors/ nurses reuse the needles infected with HIV is possible, this could be the reason for the transmission of disease.During sexual intercourse:-Unprotected sex with infected person can cause for transmission of virus.Through blood transfusion From Infected mothers to their babies during pregnancy or delivery.Injectable Drug Abuse
