4 Functions of human heart are : -

-Take the blood from vena-cava(both superior and inferior).

-Pump it through the pulmonary artery to the lungs.

-After the lungs oxygenate the received blood, blood is sent to the heart through the pulmonary vein.

-The heart then pumps the oxygenated blood for the whole body through the aorta.
_________

Double circulation : -

There is a partition between the right side and the left side of human heart which is particularly useful to prevent mixing of deoxygenated with oxygenated blood. This type of separation of deoxygenated and oxygenated blood ensures highly efficient supply of oxygen to the body. This is important in case of humans because it constantly gives energy to maintain their body temperature.

The four major function so of the heart:

  • To transfer or to pump 'oxygenated blood' from the lungs to different parts of body.
  • To transfer or to pump deoxygenated blood form different parts of the body to the lungs.
  • To maintain the heart beat rhythm.
  • To circulate all the nutrients to various parts.

Double circulation is a process is a process through which the oxygenated and the deoxygenated blood flow through the parts of the body. It is required for the circulation of oxygen and all nutrients of the body.
