This is because when we do vigorous or sudden exercise, there is lack of oxygen in our muscle cells which leads to the formation and accumulation of lactic acid in our muscle. This is why we feel cramps.

Hope this will help u.

Aerobic

1. Breakdown of food in the presence of oxygen.

2. Products formed are carbon dioxide and water.

3. More amount of energy is produced

4. Take place in higher organisms mostly on plants and humans.

Anaerobic

1. Breakdown of food in the absence of oxygen.

2. Products formed are lactic acid carbon dioxide and alcohol.

3. Less amount of energy is produced

4. Take place in organisms like yeast

When we do physical activities the demand for energy Is high, but the supply of oxygen is limited. So Anaerobic respiration takes place. Accumulation of lactic acid in the muscle cells cause muscle cramps.
I hope this helps.
