Hi, there are numerous hormones in the human body.

I am just giving a brief account of a few.

1) Thyroxine present in thyroid gland controos BMR, physical growth, mental faculties, metabolism of proteins, fat and carbohydrates.

2) Calcitonin present in thyroid checks concentration of calcium in blood plasma.

3) Adrenaline present in adrenal medulla for emergency conditions as in cold, injury,pain, emotional stress, anger, fear etc. Vasodilator in brain, cardiac muscles and liver. Vasoconstrictor in skin, visceral organs and spleen.

4) Somatostatin present in hypothalamus inhibits the secretion of growth hormone.

5) Growth hormone present in anterior pituitary checks growth of the body.

6) Oxytocin present in hypothalamus is required for contraction of smooth muscles in females during child birth.
