Albert einstein contributed very much to what is known today as modern physics.

He is known famously of his theory of relativity in which he says that if a body can travel faster than the speed of light then it can go into the future. Another aspect of this theory (which very famous) is that gravity itself can curve spacetime (spacetime is a 4 dimensional space having three dimensions of space and one dimension of time). Since gravity can curve spacetime, gravity can curve light itself causing gravitational lensing( a phenomena where gravity acts as a lens deviating light from its path). This is known as general theory of relativity. There's another theory of relativity known as special theory of relativity which gave birth to another major branch of physics, quantum physics(the branch of physics which deals with tiny particles such as protons electrons quarks etc)
