List of government and non government banks

We are talking about the banks in India.

List of government banks: Actually they are called public sector banks.
   
   Andhra Bank, Allahabad bank, Punjab Bank, State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, IDBI, Reserve Bank of India, Union Bank etc.  There are at least ten more banks.

List of non-government banks: These are called private sector banks.

   ICICI bank, HSBC, Axis Bank, Standard chartered, Dhan Laxmi bank, City Union Bank, HDFC etc. There are at least twenty more big private banks.

There are lots of cooperative banks also. These are in hundreds in number all over the country.
